A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of hosting another One-on-One workshop at my home for a lovely lady named Kate! I LOVE offering these one-on-one workshops because, not only they a ton of fun, I also get to really spend some QT (Quality Time) with just one person and really focus in on what they want help with. Kate and I started off in my new editing area (I am planning a post on that very soon!) going over a lot of key info, such as lens choices and lighting, being able to create images that don’t necessarily need extensive retouching, but also covering some post processing techniques and workflow strategies. We worked together from 9am to 6:30 and only stopped to eat lunch, which is always on me! Either which way, I wouldn’t want it any other way, but I do enjoy helping others, because I too was once in their shoes and felt EXTREMELY overwhelmed with what is to know about building a business in photography.
I asked Kate to send along an email prior to the workshop so I was able to really know exactly what she wanted to learn. I am hoping that she enjoyed it! I think not only was it a pleasure helping her, but also I think I gained another photography friend, as we MUST do lunch again!

We photographed Michele, who was an awesome model for us! She’s so pretty and just a pleasure to photograph and work with!

If you are intersted in doing a One-on-One workshop with me please feel free to contact me at anytime! I can do them on weekends as well if I am not previously booked, depending on my shooting schedule. The workshop includes a light breakfast, lunch and lot of my time, extensive  information, and a TON of hands on learning…on-location shooting as well as behind the computer!!!

Enjoy…

Happy Tuesday!

MEG

Alex Workman - Love the third shot from the bottom. Great lighting.
Athena Blude - It must have been a gorgeous day for your pupil to be in a tanktop in March. Aside from that, I love your work, Meg. You're a great teacher too and so passionate about your work. :)

Yesterday I had a wonderful time doing yet another ONE on ONE workshop with an awesome lady, Kate! We had a blast photographing Michele and I have yet to edit through the images to share with you. I did snag this quick while in between shots. It was the only color on trees in Downtown Danbury. I have shot against this wall before, but here is a fresh, fun and different perspective!

So, because I am full of cheesy jokes…Yesterday, all in all, was a BERRY good day!

Afew weeks ago I did a One on One workshop with a lovely gal and My past client/now friend Kelly modeled for us! We had a glorious day, nice and warm for February and it provided some golden light for us to work with. Just what I was hoping for! I love being able to teach others about the light and how not to be afraid of it. Even in mid-day sun!

If interested in attending a One on One workshop with me just contact the studio by phone/email and we will set up a day that works for us both! I can do weekends as long as I am not booked already for a commissioned wedding/portrait! One on One workshops are from 9am to about 6pm and are $550, which includes lunch on me and a TON of information and a TON of shooting. We hit up Tarrywile Park but also hit up the downtown area for some urban stuff / and all sorts of lighting. Lighting with off camera and controlling natural light are key points of discussion in the workshop, however, the day is tailored to your specific needs mainly. So bring your struggles and questions to the table!

Here is what I got from the day! I am LOVIN’ Kelly’s new red  hair!

Just last Saturday I hosted the OUTSIDE the BOX Workshop in my home and enjoyed the company of 5 lovely people! I couldn’t be happier with how the day went and I can’t believe the amount of information that was packed inside this VERY full workshop day! Originally it was supposed to be from 9am until 5pm but there was so much to talk about, shoot, and learn that we ended up extending the workshop by 3 hours! I could’ve gone later but I think the group was getting sick of me! ;o) Honestly, I was so thrilled to have had the opportunity to share what I have experienced, learned and encountered along my business and photography journey and I was so happy to do help them as much as I did! Hopefully they all take away something that will inspire and strengthen their shooting / business skills so they will have an easier time on their journey into this CRAZY (but fun) life that a wedding and portrait photographer leads! I started my business from scratch, a blank page if you wish, and it has been built on pride, quality, faith, hope, and never-ending learning (sometimes the hard way…”I have to buy WHAT now in order for that to work??? Uggggghhhhh”). So for me to be able to give to others the knowledge and experience that I have gained is the least that I can do for those of you who are just starting out and may be feeling A LOT… overwhelmed).

In a nutshell, I got a great response from the group and I think it was such a hit that I will open my doors (and brain) to you again and offer another OUTSIDE the BOX Workshop in February!

Below is the information for you! If you are interested in attending or have ANY questions please feel free to call me at the studio: 203-791-8969 or send me an email!outsidetheboxinfopageFEB February OUTSIDE the BOX Workshop!

Have a Happy Friday!
