Last week I posted a headshot session I did with Alissa from Mew Paper Arts. Alissa is doing great with her custom design invitation business and I couldn’t happier for her. I know how it feels to be stuck in a job you hate, having this creative itch to tend to, and taking a plunge into the self employed world. It is scary but seems right all at the same time. I am so excited for her and wanted to share that she has been featured on the website Modish Biz Tips, a blog with small creative business owners tips and ideas. I think it is a very inspiring site full of some cool stuff! Thanks to Alissa, I now know of it and will be adding it to my one of my regular blogs to check out with my early morning coffee! Take the time to check out her interview, “Do What You Love”, with Modish Biz (and her cute pics too!). It’s a good read!
Have a happy Thursday!

Sunday I did a really fun headshot session with Alissa from Mew Paper Arts. Alissa and I met last year and we connected, having some things in common, and with both being business owners we lost touch for a bit in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. But alas! We have connected again and I feel that the timing with us meeting again is going to bring us good things in the future. Alissa is a super talented, creative invitation and stationary designer and artist. She has such a keen sense of business that I love about her! FINALLY…someone as obsessed with their business as much as I am!!!
Her new site will be launching in the coming week or so and I hope all you brides out there take the time to check it out. Her work is beautifully crafted!
So I was thinking LIGHT-HEARTED, COLORFUL…Alissa was thinking FUN, WHIMSICAL…all of which describe her spirited personality to a “T”!
Enjoy…
Some super cute heels she picked up in Bethel at Head Over Heels Boutique. Apparantly I need to get my behind over there pronto.
Alissa drives a royal blue scooter! Isn’t she cool?!
Alissa’s husband, Darryl, joined us for the shoot (He was an excellent extra hand to have on the job I might add!)
Thanks for an awesome session Alissa! You will be hearing more about Alissa and Mew Paper Arts in the future since we have something up our sleeves! ;o)
And thanks to Darryl for the water and assistance!
To read more up on Alissa check her out on her blog (and check out her take on the shoot too while your there!) at Curiouser and Curiouser
Happy Tuesday All!

Meet Sophia! She will be spending some of her time here at the office helping me out and I am so excited to be having her around! Since bringing her around these neck of the woods [aka...the (D.E.D.) Digital Editing Dungeon)] I have accomplished tasks that seemed never ending and ones too HUGE for me to hurtle over and complete. Basically when owning your own photography business, or any business for that matter, if YOU don’t get the work done, no one is there to pick up the slack for you. You usually ALWAYS end up not having enough time on your hands. Sophia is a huge help to me. She dots my I’s and crosses my T’s and I feel so lucky to have her here to help me out!
So because eventually you may end up meeting her on a shoot…and because I really wanted to do a shoot with her…
Viola–Here is Sophia!
We shot these down at Tarrywhile Park, which is not too far from me.
Have a Happy Monday!
