Meet little Liam! My boyfriend’s brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Kerry, brought little Liam into the world just a couple weeks ago! We made the trip to New Jersey to see the little guy and congratulate the new parents.
He was as cute as I imagined and even more so! There is so much to love in such a little bundle like Liam! Their smell, how fragile they are, their little cries and cooing. I hate to admit, but the poopy diapers just don’t bother me all that much! True mom at heart I suppose!
So meet the little guy…Liam!
Chris, otherwise known as Dad, looking pretty proud holding Liam’s first footprints! ;o)
Liam loves his mommy!
little piggies…
It is so strange for me to see (Uncle) Matt, being so built, holding this little newborn baby. SO happy I have a pic of this to remember!
WELCOME little Liam! We love you very much!
Happy Monday!

So today was a snow day for us! Actually…school wasn’t officially cancelled or even delayed when it was time to drive to school this morning. I guess you could say I broke the rules a bit by letting my kids stay home. No…I wasn’t trying to be a “cool” mom. That honestly won’t ever happen anyhow. In fact, it was a bit selfish in the sense that I knew the school’s would end up having an early dismissal and I knew I would get NOTHING done if I had to drive them both to school only to go back in a couple hours to pick them up. So we had a snow day in our house! It was well deserved by all three of us! ;o)
So what did we do with our time? Take pics of course! In fact, Peyton and Nina helped me in my office today gathering information for good ol’e tax season that has already begun to approach us! We worked hard. So to relax a bit I wanted to do a mini portrait session with my little guy, since I posted one of Nina a month or so ago and promised one of Peyton soon after. Peyton recently turned 5 years old and we celebrated with Batman themed Duck-pin Bowling Party. It doesn’t get cooler than that folks. Have you ever been Duck-pin Bowling? If not you’re striking out. ;o) Sorry had to say it!
I found Peyt’s Dad’s old Batman costume (hand-stiched might I add) back from when he was younger.Since coincidentally I found it at the time I was planning Peyton’s Batman Party and since he loves his Dad so much, I wanted to grab some shots of him in it. I figured it was appropriate in more ways than one.
So here’s to the return of Batman!
Peyton is a VERY talented artist…
I wasn’t sure how the mini portrait session would go with the way things started out…
but that quickly faded with a little bribery and the mention of something about M&M’s (I KNOW…not what you want to teach your kids. I swear it works for pics though)
Peyton has the cutest pork chop feet. I could eat them up. Hopefully I grow out of this when he gets older!
Check out the stitching on the Batman symbol. Classic.
Complete with a cape!
Since the big brother had the opportunity so must the little munchkie, Nina. She NEVER stops with that thumb!
Hope you all enjoyed your own snow day one way or another!
Happy Thursday!

This is a little personal post about a few of my loves! I don’t often, and by often I mean never, get the opportunity to take that many images of my most precious gifts in the world…my children. How many of you read Davina Fear’s article in Professional Photographer magazine this month? If you did, you read my life. I often struggle with the demands of owning a business, being a single parent, trying to keep up on everyday events, and the constant tending to my ever-growing things-t0-do list. Where is the time for me? Well it usually almost never exists.
Every now and then I make myself take my camera out for personal use ONLY. This is when I say to myself…”That’s it. Come hell or high water I am taking my kids out for a portrait session.” I absolutely adore photographing them and they are both hams for the camera! I don’t want to look back years from now and think “my gosh, I NEVER took any pictures of my own kids and I am a professional photographer”. I refuse to be the painter with the only house on the block that isn’t painted. So this is just a small little post, sort of a hint of what is to come in the near future, in honor of the most beautiful munchkies in the world.
Now…being that I am a mom that believes in being “fair and square” and “even Steven”, I am announcing that these are mostly of my daughter because she was following me around today. My son will have his shining moment in days to come as well. I promise. And I think you should just be happy with that…”you get what you get and you don’t get upset!” ;o)
one of my favorite times to share with them is right before bed-time. Not just because it is peace at last…but because we read books, snuggle, talk about how much we love each other, etc. It doesn’t get better than that!
I am going to have a really hard time breaking her of this habit…
okay…what is a post without a pair of shoes in it?!! I couldn’t resist these when I picked out her Christmas dress from Janie and Jack the other day. I LOVE the ruffle thing goin’ on. To all my brides out there…you need a pair of these under your white dress!
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Friday!

Good Afternoon! I have a ton of upcoming shoots/weddings to post but have a bit to go before they are ready to be posted! Going from 0 to 100 has definitely whipped my butt back into shape for the ‘09 Wedding season!
It is on my to-do-list to take more personal photos (such as pictures of my children for once) through out the year so I can have the memories to cherish when I am older and want to look back and remember all the wonderful moments in life. This post is about a gown. A special gown. It is my Grandpa’s christening gown that is exactly 96 years old this year! Which means my Grandpa himself is also 96! That’s right…He is still alive and tickin’! At 96, he still tunes pianos on occasion (his lively-hood) and he still drives, and he still likes to tinker around fixing anything he possibly can!
This gown is special to me because it is my Grandpa’s 96 year old Christening gown (which his mother had hand sewn for him) that both of my children were blessed enough to wear for their own baptisms! I am so proud that my Grandpa was around to see them baptized in it. It hangs on a door in our home and every time I glance at it I think to myself that I really need to photograph it to preserve the great memory I have of my children being baptized in it. I always forget to do this. So today, because it is on my to-do-list in life, I photographed it. I am sure it will be passed on in the family to whomever has a child next and has them baptized, so it won’t be in our possession forever. I think it is such a special gown and has provided me with a real sense of the important things in life…family and enjoying the important moments in life with them while they are still here! I actually had made a hand-sewn bonnet that went with it for my children but I can’t seem to find it. So bummed about that. I hope it pops up some day!
So here it is…
Have a happy Wednesday!

Rain rain go away! Well, I did have a really cool head shot session today that I had to reschedule due to weather! Boo to that! So instead I just finished gearing up for a wedding today and tomorrow and I decided to post a couple different pics that I have been hording for the last few weeks/months. It is not often I post about personal stuff…but I do love my kids so I need to share their cuteness with you all! ;o)
This was taken one day before school started for the kiddies! It was a rainy day, just like today! ;o), which made for an interesting get-up on my son! I am a laid back mom who really doesn’t mind if my son wants to go to school dressed half for the ocean and half for school!
my son being silly in pictures as usual. He likes to “chimp” after to see what I got!
first time in curlers for my daughter so I HAD to grab some shots of that! I can’t believe she actually let me put them in. She likes nothing to do with “pretty”.
the after shot the next morning…Shirley Temple look a like!
And a little something to brighten your day…flowers from the garden. Something I don’t normally take pics of but I find it relaxing and a bit of change of pace! ;o)
I hope you all have a Happy Friday!
