One of my favorite meals of the day…Breakfast! Here is why:
1.There is nothing like the first sip of coffee to rev up my otherwise sluggish brain. I just love the first sip for some reason. It is like heaven on earth. It satisfies me in every way and it centers me. I have to put much thought into not spilling it on my journey from the counter to the table. I have to slowly bring it to my mouth so as not to sip too fast and burn my tongue (one of my pet peeves…a burnt tongue).
2.There is nothing like 15 minutes (really seconds for me on most days) to myself to read the newspaper and see what’s new in the world. It’s honestly the only time through out the day that I actually get to read anything besides my email.
3.There is nothing like a wholesome helping of yogurt with granola, eggs (made by my boyfriend), and freshly squeezed orange juice. I am pushing it with the “freshly squeezed” bit.
4.There is nothing like beautiful morning sunshine pouring through the windows at the breakfast table.
5.Hearing my daughter call her cereal “Snap , Papple, and Pop” is the best thing in the world.
6.Hearing my son’s excitement in the fact that he “winned” the race to get dressed this morning.
Those are the things I want to remember in life when they are older and no longer acknowledge me! ;o)
I will cherish these years FOREVER and always remember what breakfast was like when they were “my babies”.
Happy Friday!

Earlier this month I photographed a wedding with my friend Jake Bergemeier from NODO Photography. He needed someone to tag along for the day! I don’t have much time to edit through all of the images, so I just picked a couple quick ones that stood out to me. A BIG thanks again to Jake for thinking of me when in need. I have the coolest job ever. I get to work with friends, capture people’s love stories and be lost in time for a day. My kind of work! ;o)
Enjoy and stay cool!
I often get asked by prospective brides and grooms what it is about photographing that I like most. My answer is always, although I LOVE photographing all those shoes and intricately thought out details of the day, my most fulfilling is when I am completely 100% in the moment and able to capture that on film for people to remember for years to come. How could you put a price tag on that?! Hands down…that is what keeps me going and shooting! There isn’t anything like it.
I love this image. LOVE IT. You can feel her emotions when hugging her dad before being given away…
I almost starting crying here. Her Dad was SO emotional. I just wanted to stop shooting and go hug him.
First kiss award. This is hands down…the BEST first kiss I have EVER photographed. Movie-like.
Thanks again Jake for the invitation to shoot with you for the day! Always a pleasure!
Happy Wednesday!

A few weeks ago I photographed Natalie and Shaun’s Engagement Shoot in Downtown Danbury, CT. There are always these little nooks and crannies that I drive by and want to shoot at. So when Natalie and Shaun agreed to leave everything up to me for the shoot, which I might add is WAY cool (from a Photographer’s perspective) and VERY trusting (from a client’s perspective) I was all for hitting up my “gotta shoot it” list in my brain! These guys were so fun and I LOVED getting to know them more!
So here are my favorites…the first being photographed at a highway bridge underpass on a not so pretty street! I just follow the light where it tells me to go! ;o)
Then we hit up a location in Dowtown Danbury that I have shot at before, but came away with completely different material. I love a good challenge! It was funny, because at one point Natalie said…so is this Downtown?” There isn’t much to Danbury, and it is not the prettiest to say the least, but for me…it is a blank canvas!
I love this shot of Natalie…adorable!
Shaun proposed to Natalie when they were out on a run together! They are very athletic! So I wanted to incorporate something real to them in the session.
The striped tube socks were my idea! I think I dated myself when I asked if they ever wore these when they were little! Good thing I didn’t spring for the pom pom socks for Natalie.
Before the red balloon disappeared into thin air (literally…I tied it to my lens bag and when I went to grab it for another shot it was gone…no trace anywhere!)
One of my faves…so fun!
Natalie will make a stunning bride.
Congrats Natalie and Shaun and I can’t wait to photograph their 10-10-10 Wedding!
Happy Wednesday!

Rachel and Paul are getting married this August! They chose to do their Engagement session at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx and also at Arthur Avenue, where I happened to stuff myself with a well deserved obscene amount of Penne A La Vodka afterwards! Gosh is that place cool. I mean, why can’t Danbury have a street with a “to die for” bakery every other store and in between Italian restaurants to fill in the gaps. Is that too much to ask?! Well I had a blast and we had a beautiful day for photographs. The grounds at the Gardens are so pretty! I enjoyed every second of this shoot. As beautiful as the grounds were, I had more fun getting to know these two on a more personable level! Here’s my favorites of the day!
Enjoy…
This tree seriously smelled so pretty…
Love this series…
She wore her grandmother’s shoes which were from way back when. I loved how they are still in style! ;o)
in the back of a restaurant…
I had a BLAST guys and I can’t wait to see you again at the wedding! ;o)
Happy Friday!
