I have some VERY exciting news about Creative Image Collections. I just last week finalized all the details with the team at Style Me Pretty and have been invited to join their “Little Black Book” vendor list. I am super excited and I am beyond honored to be joining such an elite group of talented and dedicated wedding vendors across the nation. The Style Me Pretty blog is such a large and wonderful source of inspiration for brides and grooms across the nation, where you can find the latest wedding trends and some of the most superb vendors. I LOVE shooting Bat Mitzvahs (and Bar Mitzvahs)!!! There is nothing like a group of pre-teens to bring me back in time and help me to remember what is was like to dance without a care in the world (of possibly looking frighteningly silly)! I love the energy that the kids bring to the night! It is such a cool time, and frankly, makes me feel quite young again. You sometimes forget in life, as an adult, that taking the time to unwind is actually a pretty fun thing, as well as a HUGE stress reducer! Well…with the help of about 25 twelve and thirteen year olds you’ll be on your way to the good ol’e days in no time! It is always such an honor to capture people’s special moments and milestones in life and offering them something to remember it by for generations to come.

Steph and Luke got married at Tarrywile Mansion in Danbury, CT. I LOVE these two. They are the exact reason as to why I chose to do wedding photography when figuring out the direction to take my photography in. Two people in love, that have a strong mutual respect for each other, have great style, but mostly, are genuinely in love. I had such a blast photographing them as well as their family and friends. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and this was a tree full of lots of people just like Steph and Luke! It made the day so enjoyable that I kind of left feeling guilty for how fun it was! I really love what I do! Can’t beat it!

Not sure about you, but I am pretty much ready for some Spring. I LOVE spring. It reminds me of when I was little and I got to sport my new windbreaker and wear my keds (that made me run faster) without the fear of snow seeping into the soul of them and wetting my socks. Nothing I dislike more than wet socks on my feet. Well I have out grown the Keds and windbreakers but I am still loving the feeling I get from spring and I am REALLY looking forward to it’s arrival. This is just a little post to try and find the positives in life and help you ward off the winter blues. It is also because I have been so insanely busy with my work that I just needed a little something to fill in the blanks until I post Steph and Luke’s Wedding that will be coming up on the blog next week. I also have some more up my sleeve, a Bat Mitzvah to post and a cool Engagement session as well. All good stuff!

I am also very excited to share some fantastic news about Creative Image Collections! I can’t quite mention exactly what it is now, as I want to make sure all the loose ends are tied before I announce it…but I am VERY excited about it and more than humble and honored!

Nicole and Tim were married at The Candlewood Inn in Brookfield, CT. Nicole and I went to elementary school at St. Gregory’s a while back. I think I was in a grade or two above her. That’s right. An old fogey I am! We were never friends in elementary school or high school, but I knew of her. I LOVED Nicole and Tim’s day. I think everything went so perfectly because they have good karma! They are two of the most laid back, friendliest people I have ever met! They really get each other and they know how to have fun!

My favorites start off with a photo of her parent’s pet peacock! How cool was this! I pulled up in the driveway of her mom and dad’s home to see a peacock! So I went inside and was so excited about how they happened to have a peacock hanging out in their yard the day Nicole is getting married. I guess it was old news to everyone else! ;o)

I have to comment on the flower pick to the left…taken at ISO 1200 with no extra lighting other than what was available in the bridal suite at the Candlewood Inn. Never could have shot that at 1200 on my D2x and have it be a color photo.

Nicole and Tim chose to see each other before the ceremony. This allowed us to take some great relaxed formals during the golden  hour. We were actually going to start with the family photos first but since the family wasn’t ready and it was a bit chilly for the grandparents, we switched it up and I took full advantage of the golden hour! Things just seem to work out when you go with the flow.
