Lauren and Matt met years ago and have been together since high school. They followed their hearts and pursued their own dreams in life during college and managed to keep nurturing their beautiful relationship throughout the twists and turns that life presented to them, including separate roads at times. Now here they are about 12 years later, FINALLY married to one another! Together alas! No wonder I was so honored and touched by being chosen to document this special day for them. When I first met with Lauren and her mom, I learned that her and Matt were long distance for quite some time on and off throughout their relationship. Myself being in a long distance relationship at the time, I could relate to the emotional roller coaster that most times accompanies a long distance relationship. I have such a respect for them for pursuing not only each other, but also their own dreams, and proving that a love that is meant to be…will be.
Here are a bunch of my favs of the day!
The ceremony and reception were held at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven. The weather was threatening rain but held off.
We did all the formals before hand which allowed us some time to play…
This ship set sail just before the start of ceremony…
Lauren provided flip flops for the lady guests for the ceremony! Pretty cool!
a few details
Yum! I had one…they were goooooood!
Matt walked his parents down the aisle…
Matt watching as Lauren walks towards him down the aisle…
Lauren has an infectious smile…

I hope you both enjoy your new adventures in life as a married couple…FINALLY!!!
Happy Wednesday!

Tatyana and Pavel were married in NYC this past September. It was a challenge for me in the sense that there was a language barrier through out the day. The couple is originally from Russia and much of their family and friends traveled overseas to see them get hitched! I had to rely much on my intuition while photographing the ceremony and reception. I wasn’t sure what was to come next! All I knew was that it was a fun and high energy party! I loved the fact that I was forced to rely solely on feeling what might come next during the ceremony and much of the day! It was truly a memorable wedding for me and I hope someday in the future I get to photograph another one similar to it! Tatyana and Pavel not only a handsome couple but also a very hip couple! They knew the hot spots to hit up for our formals and I loved them!
Tatyana is such a classic beautiful bride…
Pavel right before his bride walked in…
Tatyana’s father walking her into the church…
newlyweds leading their wedding party into Central Park.
One of formal location spots was the Brooklyn Bridge. We hit it up just in time for some golden light!
breathtakingly beautiful…
The reception was held at The Orange Grill restaurant in Brooklyn.
Congratulations to Pavel and Tatyana and thank you for the memorable experience!
Happy Tuesday!

I would love to start off by saying thanks to Shannon and Rob for being so much fun on their engagement shoot! I am so excited to be shooting their wedding this coming year! We had some gorgeous golden light to work with and a fun mix of elements to photograph! We chose to do the shoot in Greenwich, where Shannon grew up, and did a bit of downtown for urban textures and then headed down to Tod’s Point for some more shots! I love splitting up engagement shoots into two locations because you get such a great mix of looks in the collection. Urban is always fun for its textures, bright colors, and to me can be a challange to make something special out of the back of a building or an alley. I love a good challange! The beach offered us another great set of textures…rocks, tall grass, ocean, sand, etc. etc. What more could a photographer ask for? Not much!
I am partial to Greenwich because my Grandpa lives there. I have so many wonderful memories of hanging out there with him and my Grandmother, sitting on their front porch sipping root beer floats with a silly straw, hopping on my Grandpa’s boat, Island Beach, strolling down The Avenue, and the list goes on! It brought back some great memories!
So here are some shots from the day…
there were fun…

So congrats to Shannon and Rob and I hope you all stay tuned through out the week for more stuff coming your way!
Happy Sunday!
