Just this week one of my October brides, Michele, sent along with her deposit her VERY fun and unique invitation! Michele is getting married at Music Hall, in Tarrytown, New York. I am SUPER pumped to be shooting Michele and JP’s wedding simply for the reason that they are just the coolest couple. Also I know they are going to be putting on quite a show on their wedding day (no pun intended ;o).
So I had to post these super fun invites that she has been sending to her guests! The very talented, Laura Nehls, of LETTERPUNCH DESIGN, created these fabulous invites for Michele and JP. Check em’ out below!
A little inspiration for the brides out there looking to get a little creative and do something other than the norm for invites! From a photographer’s standpoint…details are the best thing on earth since ice-cream! And I LOVE ice-cream!
The reply area was perforated so you could tear it off and send it back (much like a ticket stub). And my favorite part about the whole thing…A “Song Request” is suggested and a box to check if you agree to dance with the bride at least twice! How fun is that? LOVE it!
Can’t wait to see the rest of the ensemble (no pun intended ;o) during the big day! I know for sure it will keep me on my toes and shooting non-stop!!! Yippppeeeeeeeee!
I LOVE shooting boudoirs! I absolutely LOVE them! Honestly, I have so much fun with them that I really feel more like I am hanging out with my gal pals for the day. It almost always involves chit-chat…laughing…and a bit of female bonding. In addition you get a whole shlew of cool pics to give to your guy! I am sure they like ‘em as much as I like shooting them!;o) I think it is so liberating for women to do a boudoir shoot (or pin-up as I call it) making them feel beautiful and sexy, which is sometimes a challange for us women with our crazy, busy lives demading our attention down every and many avenues. Life sometimes exhausts us. To spend a few hours getting dolled up, looking beautiful on the inside and outside is sometimes all you need to spark that feeling inside. I think it’s awesome!
So if you have been debating whether or not you could swing a shoot like this…believe me…you can! If I can do it (thanks Paul) so can you…and I am extremely camera shy!
ps…I only post the VERY tame ones! The rest is for him to see!
Sessions are $500 and books, which are professionally designed, start at $350. They are every guy’s dream! ;o)
So once a month I coordinate a PB & J photography meeting and tonight is the big night up at Eric Foley’s house! Yipeeeeee!
Happy Wednesday!

Meg called me about 3 weeks before her wedding day to see if I was available to possibly photograph her wedding. Luckily I was able to do it. Her photographer had bailed on her. I know…terrible. I could not imagine being a bride-to-be with already too much on her plate and then suddenly having to coordinate a MAJOR detail of a wedding that was supposed to have been set in stone. I have to say, despite that, Meg was so calm and cool about it and even more so on her wedding day! Her and David got married at St. Joseph’s in Danbury and had their simple and intimate reception at the Cafe on the Green up at Richter Park in Danbury.
Meg walking into the church right before the ceremony. That is Theresa, her sister behind her, whom I went to high school with back in the day.
So cute!
Meg’s a teacher and a lot of her students came to the ceremony to see her get married!
Congratulations to you both Meg and Dave!
Happy Tuesday!
