A couple weekends ago I photographed the Wedding of Lisa and Jason at the wonderful Waterview in Monroe, CT. We started the day off at Lisa’s parents house to capture the getting ready stuff. We had a ton of fun finding cool spots to shoot our details!
Lisa is such an adorable bride…she even looks cute in curlers! ;o)
Her parents have a glass coffee table in their living room which was screaming for a shoe shot!
her dress was so simple and flowy…Loved it!
Her grandmother’s bracelet…her something borrowed.
some great window light thanks to the HUGE window in her mom’s bedroom
Jason is a very modest model for the camera!
her dad about to give his daughter’s hand in marriage!
The only Dad I have ever photographed that was the one to know how to bustle the dress! How cool!
Love this series…
their introduction into the reception! They had huge smiles on their faces all day!
first Dance…
Lisa gets a big hug from her Grandma!
They had a cupcake tier instead of a traditional cake!
Congratulations Lisa and Jay! It was a pleasure capturing your day!
Happy Wednesday!

A couple weekends ago I photographed a maternity session for Nicole and Duncan! Just to give you a little background information, I met them at Andrea and Nick’s wedding back in May! Duncan is Andrea’s brother! So they are expecting. We had very little time to plan this shoot since she is due any day now (if the little munchkin didn’t arrive already!) I had a blast with Nicole and Duncan and learned of all the good restaurants to eat at in Fairfield, CT. (I tried Wild Rice…yummmmm! and soon to find out how Archie Moore’s wings are!
So we started off indoors in the nursery!
Nicole had this adorable top, that I have to say isn’t even a maternity shirt. Yeah. I know. NOT FAIR! She looks amazing and glows!
They have the cutest backyard with a fence, green grass and some cute dogs too!
The one thing Duncan said during the shoot that sticks out in my mind is that him and Nicole like each other! They really share a special bond with each other. This will be one lucky kid!
If this is Nicole’s “I mean business” face then she has to work on it a bit…much too cute!
We headed down to the beach, which was a hop, skip, and a jump away!
Some golden sunset light…
Coinky-dink has it that I happened to be ready to post this on Father’s Day! Don’t know if that applies to Duncan yet! If it does…Happy Father’s Day!
Have a Happy Father’s Day and a Happy Sunday!

A couple weekends ago I shot a lovely wedding up at the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook with my friend Jake from NoDo Photgoraphy. It was great to shoot with Jake again and I love shooting with Jake! It was a beautiful ocean-side ceremony! You couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to photograph! Sunny and warm, the day was perfect!
Megan, the bride, has the cutest little dog ever! It was so well behaved and followed her around like…well, like a little puppy! ;o)
While I crouched down to grab this shot…
So did the dog!
JCREW…Who knew?!
Water’s Edge is really a beautiful setting with gorgeous views of the ocean.
first dance…
I Hope you all have a lovely and happy Friday!

Last week I posted a headshot session I did with Alissa from Mew Paper Arts. Alissa is doing great with her custom design invitation business and I couldn’t happier for her. I know how it feels to be stuck in a job you hate, having this creative itch to tend to, and taking a plunge into the self employed world. It is scary but seems right all at the same time. I am so excited for her and wanted to share that she has been featured on the website Modish Biz Tips, a blog with small creative business owners tips and ideas. I think it is a very inspiring site full of some cool stuff! Thanks to Alissa, I now know of it and will be adding it to my one of my regular blogs to check out with my early morning coffee! Take the time to check out her interview, “Do What You Love”, with Modish Biz (and her cute pics too!). It’s a good read!
Have a happy Thursday!

Good Afternoon! I have a ton of upcoming shoots/weddings to post but have a bit to go before they are ready to be posted! Going from 0 to 100 has definitely whipped my butt back into shape for the ‘09 Wedding season!
It is on my to-do-list to take more personal photos (such as pictures of my children for once) through out the year so I can have the memories to cherish when I am older and want to look back and remember all the wonderful moments in life. This post is about a gown. A special gown. It is my Grandpa’s christening gown that is exactly 96 years old this year! Which means my Grandpa himself is also 96! That’s right…He is still alive and tickin’! At 96, he still tunes pianos on occasion (his lively-hood) and he still drives, and he still likes to tinker around fixing anything he possibly can!
This gown is special to me because it is my Grandpa’s 96 year old Christening gown (which his mother had hand sewn for him) that both of my children were blessed enough to wear for their own baptisms! I am so proud that my Grandpa was around to see them baptized in it. It hangs on a door in our home and every time I glance at it I think to myself that I really need to photograph it to preserve the great memory I have of my children being baptized in it. I always forget to do this. So today, because it is on my to-do-list in life, I photographed it. I am sure it will be passed on in the family to whomever has a child next and has them baptized, so it won’t be in our possession forever. I think it is such a special gown and has provided me with a real sense of the important things in life…family and enjoying the important moments in life with them while they are still here! I actually had made a hand-sewn bonnet that went with it for my children but I can’t seem to find it. So bummed about that. I hope it pops up some day!
So here it is…
Have a happy Wednesday!
