Pam and Ron were married at the Guilford Yacht Club and I had a great time shooting their day for them. They are such a wonderful couple. They had an outdoor ceremony and an exceptionally fun reception!

I loved Pam’s dress…simple and elegant.

This is a little personal post about a few of my loves! I don’t often, and by often I mean never, get the opportunity to take that many images of my most precious gifts in the world…my children. How many of you read Davina Fear’s article in Professional Photographer magazine this month? If you did, you read my life. I often struggle with the demands of owning a business, being a single parent,  trying to keep up on everyday events, and the constant tending to my ever-growing things-t0-do list. Where is the time for me? Well it usually almost never exists.

Every now and then I make myself take my camera out for personal use ONLY. This is when I say to myself…”That’s it. Come hell or high water I am taking my kids out for a portrait session.” I absolutely adore photographing them and they are both hams for the camera! I don’t want to look back years from now and think “my gosh, I NEVER took any pictures of my own kids and I am a professional photographer”. I refuse to be the painter with the only house on the block that isn’t painted. So this is just a small little post, sort of a hint of what is to come in the near future, in honor of the most beautiful munchkies in the world.

Now…being that I am a mom that believes in being “fair and square” and “even Steven”, I am announcing that these are mostly of my daughter because she was following me around today. My son will have his shining moment in days to come as well. I promise. And I think you should just be happy with that…”you get what you get and you don’t get upset!” ;o)

one of my favorite times to share with them is right before bed-time. Not just because it is peace at last…but because we read books, snuggle, talk about how much we love each other, etc. It doesn’t get better than that!

okay…what is a post without a pair of shoes in it?!! I couldn’t resist these when I picked out her Christmas dress from Janie and Jack the other day. I LOVE the ruffle thing goin’ on. To all my brides out there…you need a pair of these under your white dress!

Jacob Bergmeier - I love reading these stories about your children because it shows how strong of a person you are through the thick of life. I love your images of your children because they excite me for the future when Diana and I have our own.
Tania - Meg, your post gave me chills. Taking the time to stop and breathe and ... cherishing those who are most important in our lives... beautiful post.

I am so excited to post this wedding I shot back in September at the fairly new Saltwater Farm Vineyard. The day was beautiful, Amanda and Kyle were amazing and also beautiful, and the details…oh the lovely details! They were gorgeous and rustic and vine-yardy (i know that isn’t a word) thanks to Talia, Lindsay from Sixpence Events who did a fantastic job  coordinating!

We started off at The Inn at Stonington where Amanda and girls were getting ready!

Lauren and Matt met years ago and have been together since high school. They followed their hearts and pursued their own dreams in life during college and managed to keep nurturing their beautiful relationship throughout the twists and turns that life presented to them, including separate roads at times. Now here they are about 12 years later, FINALLY married to one another! Together alas! No wonder I was so honored and touched by being chosen to document this special day for them. When I first met with Lauren and her mom, I learned that her and Matt were long distance for quite some time on and off throughout their relationship. Myself being in a long distance relationship at the time, I could relate to the emotional roller coaster that most times accompanies a long distance relationship. I have such a respect for them for pursuing not only each other, but also their own dreams, and proving that a love that is meant to be…will be.

Here are a bunch of my favs of the day!
