I love these guys! They are so much fun! They are my little angels (well sometimes not so much like angels ;o) and they are the BEST gift in life I have ever received!

My daughter was born with these gorgeous piercing blue eyes that light up the room when she walks in! She is so full of spirit and has quite a quest for life!

My son who once needed speach therapy…is now a professional talker! He never stops! Although I am not your standard “Say Cheese” kind of photogorapher…He wanted to say it! What a ham!

Every once in a while I get into posting on my blog and I try to add in some fun stuff about myself, just so you know who stands behind the big bulky piece of black equipment I push in front of your faces!

So here are a few things you may not have known about me…

1. I once got to be part of the flag ceremony at Arlington Cementary in Washington DC. pretty nifty!

2. I can recite the fifty states alphabetically in order really fast! (thanks to the song I learned in 7th grade for our singing recital)

3. I almost always go through the EZ Pass Lane with cash in my hand while driving to the city. OOOOPS!

4. My favorite past time is driving and listening to music, especially when the sun is just going down.

5. I love airports. Something about them excite me. I love the way I feel when I am in them.

6. I once went to an interview soon after college and was told by the very nice interviewer that I would NEVER get a job shooting right off the bat. The next week I started shooting for The Danbury News-Times as a photo-journalist.

7. I once had a soccer coach pay for me to attend a tournament that I would have had to skip out on because my parents didn’t have the money for me to go. I felt honored.

8. I once burnt my lips on a pot that was boiling water on the stove because I saw my reflection in it and I kissed it! That hurt.

9. I am huge NYC fan…although I would never really want to live there.

10. I almost went to school for massage therapy.

11. I shot my first wedding almost 8 years ago. It was a second marriage and I was sooooo nervous I almost got sick to my stomach. You eventually get over that!!!

12. I once found an albino tree frog in a plant that I bought from Stop and Shop. It lived in my room for quite some time before we met! He never bothered me much! I let him free after we crossed paths!

I am off to NYC for an Eshoot tomorrow and then a Bar Mitzvah tomorrow night!

Enjoy your weekend!

My apologies for delays in getting back to clients the past couple days. I have been sick with a serious stomach virus that left me pretty much layed up in bed for the past two days. Feeling much better now, thank the heavens, since I have a big shooting weekend ahead.

So a while back I shot Amy and Jeff’s wedding at St. Margarite’s and the Candlewood Inn in Brookfield. I love Amy’s family! Her brother and I go way back to our thumb sucking days, and I have seen Amy’s parents at three weddings in the past year! This time it was their celebration!

So here are a bunch of the one’s I liked the best!

Her dress was gorgeous and there was lots of it!!!

The most adorable little ring bearer I have ever seen. He was so full of life!

The rings, in which I have to say, were forgotten, until I asked for them before the ceremony so I could shoot them! I had about two seconds to shoot them outside as they arrived. quickly I captured…but I like!

Okay…this year I have incorporated second shooters into some of my collections and it is offered as an a la carte for the collections that don’t include it. Great! Love it! However, for next year, I have decided that it is going to be a standard in my collections. I have had the oppurtunity to shoot with one at some of my weddings…and now that I have, I am finding it hard to go back to shooting a wedding solo. I LOVE the flexibility that it allows me and I LOVE being able to get all those in between shots and moments that wouldn’t be caught on film because I would be running around shooting like a chicken with their head cut off. So anyone who is interested in becoming a second shooter for my ‘09 wedding season please inquire within and we can set up something to meet and chat about it (sorta like an interview but more relaxed!)

I am super excited to be offering this next year and I feel I have finally gotten to the point where I am comfortable with letting go of having complete control of every single shot taken at the wedding. I think those 20 or so extra shots that could be captured by simply having a second shooter would allow any photographers business to boom. It is those 20 images that could make all the difference to the bride and groom and me as well. I LOVE what I do, and a requirement of my second shooter would mainly to be having that same passion (or obsession) with capturing images as well.

So hopefully this gets the word out…as I am one who likes to be prepared for the future and would love to start meeting with anyone interested NOW…

Happy Wednesday!

~MEG

Jane - you know i'm interested!
shannon - I cant wait to have the mad skills to be a second shooter!!! one of these days!!! :)
carla ten eyck - I couldn't agree more with you about having a second. Especially if you can get a committed full time shooter then you can really get your flow going and it is just perfect!! Good luck finding your Mike! :)
jake - Second Shooters ROCK!... They totally capture moments that other photographers couldn't. I know a great one that shot with me back in April ;) I will pass their name via email. Hope you have a great day!

I am trying to catch up on my blogging! I slacked for a bit. So back in April I shot Matt and Amy’s wedding! I had a blast shooting their wedding in Newtown CT and up at the Waterview in Monroe!

So here are a handful of my favorites…

There is something about window lighting that just can’t be beat. It is beautiful and directional and if I could I would bottle it up and keep it in my pocket for when I want to use it! Yummmmm.

Tania - Awww... gorgeous last shot Meg.. GREAT JOB!
Danielle - Love the rings...love the bridal portrait, love the silhouette....What's not to love...Awesome job Meg!!! :)
creativeimagecollections - thanks eric...how is that damn tilt shift. hot damn I wish I had one. Sucka.
raw photo design - alright! It's about time we get some CIC weddings up in here! I always love your shoe shots. Everyone else always gets crazy with lighting and editing effects but yours are always so elegant and classic incorporating nice shape and color.
shannon - LOVE LOVE LOVE the last picture with the reflections of the mirrors!!!
creativeimagecollections - Nikki...it was great to see you too at the workshop...Your hair is sooooooo edgey and cool...LOVE it! Very sexy!
creativeimagecollections - travis...the rings were one some kind of silver dish thing I found in the back of the church where the groom was waiting!
Stephanie - Beautiful pictures. I don't have a favorite, I love them all!
Travis Flynn - Wow! I'm a big fan of #2, #3, rings, and silhouette. What's the background for the rings image? Whatever it is, it worked wonderfully. I think my favorite is the dress-- a little context, something that is rare for dress photos.
nikki nicole - hey meg it was so great to see you last night wish i got to talk to you more! the last shot is hot!!!!!!!! love the colors!!!
jake - That last shot is breathtaking!
