Awesome! I am so excited to have everyone over again for the PB&J…which stands for Photogaphy~Beer~Junk Food. So all three will be available…what more could you ask for!

It will be on April 6th at my place again (it’s a Sunday so you better all be here!)

It will be at 4:30 and we are doing Chinese/Japanese food

Any ideas for what the topics should be feel free to comment on it.

Hope you all can make it!

MEG

Jane - meg, i hope it's ok that i'm using your blog to see if anyone would like to be a second shooter for a bat mitzvah, sat eve., may 31st, hammond museum, south salem, ny. since i do not have a blog myself and no emails...boo hoo! let me know asap! jane la motta
Jane - meg, thanks sooo much for today! i had a great time and met some great people. personally, i loved the cute little post-its next to all the goodies! you are so cute. jane
creativeimagecollections - Hey Eric, yipppeeeee! I am happy you are coming on sunday! It is good fun! YOu better be here or be square! Hope that baby holds out so you can enjoy!
Eric Foley - I'm in!....unless my daughter is born on Saturday:) Creating Individuality is my topic.
Carrie - Hey Meg, Gregg and I will be in Jamaica on our honeymoon so we can't make it to this one but hopefully we'll be there for the next one. I hope you had as much fun as we did yesterday ... we hardly noticed you & Shannon except for when we needed you so we can't wait to see what you captured throughout the day. Everyone LOVED the guest book - it was a HUGE hit. Thanks for everything! Mrs. Walter! :) :) :)
creativeimagecollections - travis...be there or be square...no if's, and's or butt's.
Travis Flynn - If it is mostly cloudy or darker, I'll be there! (Tentative family portrait session.) Good topics, Jake. I 2nd the vote for client presentations. Role playing-- can I be a groom with apparent A.D.D.?
creativeimagecollections - ps...i like how eric put it at the last lunch...on workflow being "work-slow"...brilliantly said!
creativeimagecollections - robin. hey chickie...I can't go...are you going? I will try and put together some info to share like for the lunch like you did last time. steph...yipppeee! It will be fun to see you again. long time no see.
meg - two thumbs up for having jake be the secretary...put your teaching skills to the test!
Robin Dini - sounds like a plan. Anyone going to Carla's workshop that Monday?
Stephanie - Oooh sounds like fun. As of right now I'm still in.
Tania - I'm so excited!!! Jake, workflow is a great topic! I'm also interested in editing preferences/external products used for picture enhancement (such as kubota, etc.) or the funkiest place you've shot at. I nominate Jake to be secretary and to put together an agenda :-)
creativeimagecollections - I love the last one Jake...right on! Hehe! And all of those topics are great...I am struggling with that first one right now. And not to be cheesey and copy PUG but balance...how the hell do we get balance in life and owning a business...is there such a thing...think not.
Jake - I so can't wait for April 6th! Here are my votes for topics: work flow (post shooting), what clients want to see when you meet with them for the first time, good companies for photographers to work with (ie, whcc, graphistudio), "I wish I could shoot...", studio shooting/on location shooting, photo critiquing our work, why ML rocks...

I am back and feel a bit more human this week! I figured I would blog with a pic this time since it has been way too long from when I last posted a pic.

So this is a little image of my latest wall art that is up and hanging in my studio now. It is slowly but surely coming together. I chose this one to be an image from the trash-the-dress shoot I did with Talia and her husband Ed. I loved the feel of the picture and I am pretty sure you can check it out on my site in the TTD section as well. It adds a pop of color in the room and I love it!

Also…I am gearing up for the start of my season this week. My first wedding of the year is with Carrie and Gregg and Saturday is their Big Day! Can’t wait guys! I am looking forward to getting back to shooting weddings and using some my latest additions to my lens collection.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

TTFN!

Happy Saturday!

Jane - meg, i'm a big fan of your work. if you ever need a second shooter/assistant, i have some free time this spring/summer. just "call me and i'll be there..." (lol- i used to be a big fan of diana ross - don't tell anybody)
leyajohanna - Hello All, Although I don't really consider myself a real part of this group, I do enjoy reading all the posts and enjoy the blog updates. I hope no one minds that I occasionally drop in? I've not been around that much because my s/o was injured in a minor accident. But I'm back and looking forward to reading more.
raw photo design - oops...I meant on the side of your "yacht" Not dock....
raw photo design - You're starting your season already! Good for you....doesn't it make you want to crack a bottle of champagne on the side of your dock? Hmm...maybe you can do it over the side of your D2x or something :-) Good luck, but you never need it!!
Talia - YAY! that's me! so fun! I love all of the colors, and the way the come together. Looks like a fantastic space.
Stephanie - Beautiful picture. I agree it makes the room pop and very springy!
Tania - I agree w/PP's.. LOVE the colors.. very springy.. makes the room come alive!! (Hey, weren't you a consultant for an HGTV program or something?? :-)
Lesley - The colors in that room look great! Love the combo of the gallery wrap & the dresser.
Jake - Wow, I love the colors! The gallery wrap really pops thanks to that dresser. Good luck next week!

I am alive! Yipppeeee! I am actually okay guys! I know I have gotten some comments/emails and calls wondering how things are, where have I gone to, and am I okay. I am alive, but have been extremely under the weather with a flu thing beyond belief. So I have been trying to keep up with everything in life and blogging wasn’t one of them! However, I noticed my stats are way low due to it and I will begin to bless you all with my boring life journies once again! So in the past few days you have missed the following of my life…

~a trip to see the Easter Bunny….it was a lot of fun and he gave out great prizes to all the boys and girls!

~me blowing my nose and coughing…

~me making myself some tea to soothe my sore-er than sore throat.

~me answering uncountable emails to clients!

~me getting my hair done on a whim and then the next day having to go to my usual hair dresser who fixed the results from the prior day. I am proud to say that I actually didn’t cry over it this time. I have matured and have come to realize hair is just hair, it will grow and color can be changed!!!

~me missing PUG…

so like I said, nothing to crazy exciting but this week I am back in the swing of things and feel more like myself.

I hope you all have a happy St. Patty’s Day…and if it wasn’t for the stopping into my favorite (lately) restaurant, Sesame Seed, I would have forgotten all about it…and I’m Irish…oh well!

~MEG

creativeimagecollections - i can sell you mine eric...size 4 or 6 I think...is it for trashing??? got two more too! Size 10 or 12..
raw photo design - glad to hear you're on the mend. I was sick the whole time I was in Vegas...ugghh...I know, it's probably more fun to be sick in vegas then sick at home. Do you have any wedding dresses you feel like selling? If so, what size?
Tania - I saw your posting-- happy to hear you're feeling better!! (Don't you feel the love?? :-) PB & J Lives On!! We should get T-shirts made. Who's up for the shirt design??
creativeimagecollections - thanks all, I feel the love! hehe! Jake...you are too much already. RE-banned is right... pics of used tissues and tea bags was a funny comment. I got a chuckle from it! haha!
Carrie - Welcome back Meg ~ sorry to hear you had/have the flu. I hope you are feeling better. We missed you but you already know that!
shannon - glad to see your still alive and kicking and feeling better :)happy late st. pattys day :) only 2 more days till spring!!!
Robin Dini - yeah!
Jake - Lesley... UPDATED with a new slideshow! Done!
Stephanie - I'm sorry to hear you had the flu! That's definitely NO fun! Glad you're feeling better. :)
Lesley - You know come to think about it - Jake gives you a hard time about not posting but I don't see his blog getting updated everyday. Come on Jake your turn ;)
Lesley - Good to see your back and feeling better. I had that flu thing and it sucked. Actually I kind of wondered how you keep up with the blog thing everyday. Coming up with material has to be difficult at times and I would think there just must be some days where you just don't feel like sharing anything at all. In other words we understand but sure are glad to see you back :)
Jake - Yay! Meg's alive! No pictures of used tissues or empty tea bags??? And you call yourself a photographer... (kidding of course!!! I wouldn't want to be RE-banned from PB&J) :P

I just got notice today that Leather Craftsmen is offering an album design seminar from one of their own, David Willis, teamed up with Ross Benton, who is a photographer who also offers album design services for those photographers that are preoccupied with other areas of the business and need to outsource their album designs.

The seminar isn’t until June 27th but they are only taking the first 10 who sign up. So spots will fill fast I am sure…you can check out all the information here if you are interested in attending.

The best part of the deal is your tuition includes a 24 sided 10×10 flush mount coffee table book. How sweet is that.

So I am just passing along the word to those out there that are looking to focus on album designs this year.

Happy Tuesday!

~meg

creativeimagecollections - i know about that one jane...I got something with an order from WHCC in the delivery this week. I am looking into it...might be a good one, but I think i have so much on my plate right now. meg
Stephanie - Happy St. Patrick's Day! :) I also came by to see if anything has been updated. Oh well.
Jane - fyi to all you bloggers - there's a seminar called Captivated by the Light run by edpierceseminars.com they will be in rye, ny on tues night april 15th. there are nine photographers presenting so go online to get more info.
Carrie - Just checking in to see if you've posted anything new ... and you haven't! :( Disappointment strikes me again! Oh well, since I'm here, Happy St. Patrick's Day!
jake - I totally agree with Carrie.. I'm going through Creative Image Collections withdrawal. Hurry up and post something, PLEASE.
Carrie - Hi Megan ~ We miss you! Where are you? Hope everything's okay!!!!
Stephanie - Sounds very interesting. That's the last day of school for me. Have fun if you go.
creativeimagecollections - jane, you are so adorable...i hope I see you at the next lunch...it's on a sunday! carrie, I am thinking about attending, but I will be kind of busy then and I have to see how things are for me. I would love to go just to get the book and some new album design ideas...and the lunch!!! ;)
Carrie - Are you just passing this info along or are you planning on attending?
Jane - hi meg, i'm getting the hang of this blog-thing! i would have loved to go to this seminar but that day doesn't work for me. bummer. jane

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Happy Monday!

I am excited to share with you my latest design for Carrie and Gregg’s guest book for their wedding coming up in a couple of weeks! It was a fun shoot and even more fun to design the book for them to leave out for their wedding guests to view and sign. What a cool way to show off your engagement pictures! (hint hint ;o) I leave lots of negative space with the idea of having the area open to sign without taking away from the actual images. What an awesome keepsake.

Enjoy!

I will have to definitely grab a detail shot of the book at their wedding! ;o)

~MEG

Jane - meg, i really love your book! jane
creativeimagecollections - Stephanie... AMEN to that comment you made towards Jake...hehe! Jake...YOU WON!!! JUST KIDDING!!!! Mwaaahahahaha!
Lesley - Meg this turned out great and we are only seeing it online. The real book will be fabulous.
Robin Dini - i really love the layout Megan. I normally do the whole negative space idea in the last few pages. I like how you do it through out the book with color and cropping. very good ideas here.
Stephanie - Jake, you are ruthless. :P
Jake - Looks great Meg! I love the design... you did a great job... by the way... which girl won the February contest??? It's the 10th for Pete's sake. HAHA!!!
Stephanie - This is something I wanted to do for my wedding and never got around to it. I was going to put our pictures in a book that I got using photo corners. So we have an expensive beautiful book with just people's names. I don't think I ever looked at it and we've been married for almost 2 years! Beautiful job! I love it. Love the concept too. :D
Carrie - Awesome Megan! We love it! Can't wait to see it up close and personal! Yeah, you'll have to make sure you get a detailed shot of the book -hopefully with guest signatures to give your future clients a better idea of the whole concept because I was expecting something totally different and what we're getting is so much better. What a wonderful keepsake instead of the generic guest sign in book with white pages and black lines ... BORING!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!
