I think it will be a fun thing…Robin is going to be putting together some sort of ice-breaker game…and if she forgot I am hoping she reads this and will soon remember! Hehe! Anyhoo…

Just a quick winter shot that I stole while out shooting this weekend.
If I am ever at a shoot with you and randomly start shooting in the opposite direction from where you are…it is probably because I am just taking a moment out to “play” a little! Keeps me creative!
Happy Wednesday!
I am shooting a maternity session today and am looking forward to it very much!
I am also so pumped because I found a really cool old bike on the side of the road for free. Well, I am thinking it was for free because it was out there lonely in the cold and snow on the side of the road for well over a week and I drive by it every day. So today was the day that I claimed it! It is mine!!! I can’t wait to incorporate it into a shoot soon! We shall see who will be the lucky winner to have cool rusty old blue bike in their pics!
My friend Robin and I have been chit chatting about cool workshops and I mentioned how cool the Love Affair Workshop seemed. It is held by Kelly Moore, Davina Fear, Millie Holloman, and Lauren Clark. I really wanted to go and just couldn’t fit into my schedule this year. Next year it is definitely on my to-do-list. So in search of other cool, week long type photography workshops Robin found this really cool one that is open to women and men. (LOVE AFFAIR is girls only…sorry guys! ;o)
So the cool one is called Flourish…and I alone like the site let alone the thought of how the workshop is structured. Flourish I believe is not really focusing on wedding photography. But I love to do all sorts and I am sure there are wedding photogs out there like myself that are really looking to expand their horizons and venture out of the box and do a little something different every now and again to keep your creative juices flowing.
Okay…so if you happened to be on the hunt for some workshops…
here are the ones that I have considered attending and hope to someday!
Shootshops …by the Kaisers A.K.A. The Image Is Found… Need I say more!
Love Affair Workshop
The Anti-Workshop… by the Boutwells
and this one is cool too …
Flourish… this looks pretty cool, based in Kentucky. The song on the website is playing over and over in my editing room as we speak! ;o)
Just a little teaser shot from Shan’s TTD session yesterday! This was the last shot Shan and I got. We froze are buts off for three solid hours and trampled through snow to get to all of our locations. The light was falling on us and we got this one just in time! It was probably the most fun shot we created. I simply told her to toss up her boquet and be like HURRAY!!!! We are done shooting and freezing our you-know-whatsee’s-off!
Off to an E-shoot with Carrie and Gregg!
Can’t wait!
Happy Sunday!
Meg
Okay, I am soooo tired and I have to get up early for another packed day of shooting fun! I have a really cool engagement session to do with cool people by the beach! Yes the beach…even though it snowed yesterday. Anyhoo…
the TTD shoot today with Shan went sooo great and I love the images we got. We had so much fun from start to finish…and have a whole bunch of burrs attached to us to show it!
Can’t wait to share the pics with you and thanks again Shan for an awesome day of non stop shooting for 3 hours…YOU ROCKED!!!
Never once did she complain, and this girl layed in the snow…had snow thrown on her…was in 20 degree weather in a strapless gown…
BRAVE!!!
Have a great night!
Meg
PS…totally just got my 28mm 2.8 back from getting all set up for the season and have to send it back out unless anyone has any tips for getting rid of condensation inside the lens from snow…UGGGGHHHHHHHH! That is the only negative part of shooting on location. Your lenses are put through the mill.
Okay…updated again…so I just decided to order the 24mm 2.8 as my new wide angle…it is such a good lens for the price that until I can buy the 14 to 24 next year it will keep me in the loop with my wide angle shots. I can’t be without a lens and especially a wide angle, sinceI am mainly a wide angle shooter.
B&H of Course!!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to use it!
