Meet little Liam! My boyfriend’s brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Kerry, brought little Liam into the world just a couple weeks ago! We made the trip to New Jersey to see the little guy and congratulate the new parents.

He was as cute as I imagined and even more so! There is so much to love in such a little bundle like Liam! Their smell, how fragile they are, their little cries and cooing. I hate to admit, but the poopy diapers just don’t bother me all that much! True mom at heart I suppose!

So meet the little guy…Liam!

It is so strange for me to see (Uncle) Matt, being so built, holding this little newborn baby. SO happy I have a pic of this to remember!

WELCOME little Liam! We love you very much!

Happy Monday!

MEG

Kathleen - What a sweet little guy! Love these shots, I'm such a sucker for seeing new parents cuddling & kissing their baby. :)
Robert J. Trenske - I am absolutely in love with the 5th and 6th photos, they are so emotional and beautiful. Seriously incredible stuff!!!!
Meg - Thanks Chris! I do believe he will still growl at me for posting him in this! Too bad, I like that pic!
Chris - So great! That one of Ker and Liam is gorgeous. And make sure Matt sees that one of him at the end - it's hands down the best shot of him I've ever seen. I'll bet he won't growl at you after seeing it!

A couple weeks ago, I got to hang out with Astrid and Mike for a day in New York City. We had spring-like weather so we weren’t running from the cold all day! It was glorious! I have to be honest and say this shoot was a HUGE challenge for me since I had just visited NYC last month, also in Central Park, for an engagement shoot. Coincidentally the Emily and Astrid both wore red coats! So I was having a double whammy of a challenge! How does one photographer make a shoot unique after being in the same location so close together? Well…my answer as always is…the CLIENT makes it unique. I just do the clicking of the shutter! Well, okay, I guess I also had to think outside the box (hence my workshop title).

I think every photographer experiences such a challenge every so often. It comes with the job. But I love challenges and in fact I embrace them. Otherwise I am in BIG trouble and I walk away feeling empty from a photography session. I forced myself to shoot with a couple different lenses that I normally will rarely take out of my bag. Why? Well, I guess you’ll have to sign up for my OUTSIDE the BOX workshop to find out! I also told myself to focus solely on Astrid and Mike as a couple and not to be overwhelmed with the bustling city and it’s many available backgrounds. Instead I used the backgrounds as just…well…backgrounds!

I also have to say, Mike is related to Matt, my boyfriend. So Matt’s mom told Mike’s Mom that I was a photographer, and Cece, without telling Astrid how she knew me, gave her my site and the rest is history! So I will be joining them in March at their wedding and am honored to be a part of it!

So here are my favorites from the day…we started off at the lovely Central Park!

A wonderful day spent with two cute lovebirds!

Can’t wait for the big day Mike and Astrid!

MEG

Robert J. Trenske - Way to rock out NYC, I love this session and LOVE that last silhouette. Great work Meg!!
Eileen Broderick - Holy Cow! I had about a million 'favorties' as I scrolled along--didn't know how I would ever choose but then this last image just blew me away. But there are tons of amazing ones. This couple is SO photogenic and I love your compositions in so many of these. Astrid is ridiculously beautiful. Awesome session.
Eric Foley - Awesome Meg! I love me some Brooklyn! Beautiful couple too!
Rich - Way to go Meg! Very nice!
Chris - Meg, again: you are just fantastic. And Michael Howard and Astrid look amazing... you really captured their spirit.

Happy Saturday All! Most of you are probably not blog surfing today, but this is when I FINALLY remembered to knock off this item on my to-do-list!

So here it is…the information for the next PB&J…

February 25th which is a Thursday! 7pm… @ (drum roll please) my house!

This photography meeting is open to all…it doesn’t matter what level. I am hoping to see some of the work-shop goers at it! It is usually very quaint in number, about 10 give or take.

The topic is usually left open…and it is just a fun, relaxed night of learning and networking! I am happy to open my doors to you all!

My studio number : 203-791-8969 / mlabphotos@sbcglobal.net

It is BYOB and I will provide the munchies but if you are dead set on bringing something too I won’t hate you! ;o)

Enjoy your lovely weekend!

Happy Saturday!

So today was a snow day for us! Actually…school wasn’t officially cancelled or even delayed when it was time to drive to school this morning. I guess you could say I broke the rules a bit by letting my kids stay home. No…I wasn’t trying to be a “cool” mom. That honestly won’t ever happen anyhow. In fact, it was a bit selfish in the sense that I knew the school’s would end up having an early dismissal and I knew I would get NOTHING done if I had to drive them both to school only to go back in a couple hours to pick them up. So we had a snow day in our house! It was well deserved by all three of us! ;o)

So what did we do with our time? Take pics of course! In fact, Peyton and Nina helped me in my office today gathering information for good ol’e tax season that has already begun to approach us! We worked hard. So to relax a bit I wanted to do a mini portrait session with my little guy, since I posted one of Nina a month or so ago and promised one of Peyton soon after. Peyton recently turned 5 years old and we celebrated with Batman themed Duck-pin Bowling Party. It doesn’t get cooler than that folks. Have you ever been Duck-pin Bowling? If not you’re striking out. ;o) Sorry had to say it!

I found Peyt’s Dad’s old Batman costume (hand-stiched might I add) back from when he was younger.Since coincidentally I found it at the time I was planning Peyton’s Batman Party and since he loves his Dad so much, I wanted to grab some shots of him in it. I figured it was appropriate in more ways than one.

So here’s to the return of Batman!

Peyton is a VERY talented artist…

but that quickly faded with a little bribery and the mention of something about M&M’s (I KNOW…not what you want to teach your kids. I swear it works for pics though)
